We are seeking a SCADA And Controls Engineer - Energy Storage (BESS) to design and integrate complete solutions for customers. The ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering degree, technical expertise in system integration, and project delivery experience, preferably from OEMs or as a senior engineer.
Candidates with a background in battery storage, inverter power electronics, or contracting are highly preferred. This role involves guiding market entry, promoting products, and delivering one-stop solutions to drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of SCADA & automation systems for energy storage solutions
- Collaborate with customers to define and meet system requirements, ensuring solutions exceed expectations
- Oversee SCADA implementation, adhering to industry best practices
- Act as the SCADA subject matter expert, collaborating across teams to ensure successful project outcomes
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design philosophy, data lists, diagrams, and network configurations
- Analyze performance data from the Energy Management System to optimize site performance
- Provide on-site engineers and commissioning directors with the tools needed for project success
- Ensure all equipment complies with industry regulations and cybersecurity standards
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer engineering (or related)
- 2+ years of experience in SCADA, PLC development, or application engineering
- Strong client focus and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of generator-to-grid control systems, including spinning reserve, frequency control ancillary services, voltage support, and active power management.
- Experience in designing and commissioning control systems in the renewable energy sector is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of renewable energy and inverter-based systems is a plus
- Willingness to travel domestically
