About the Role
This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a dedicated Site-Based Safety Advisor passionate about creating a safe, effective work environment. You’ll be responsible for safety oversight on a major project set to run through mid-next year.
Responsibilities
- Implement and promote safety policies and practices across the site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate and lead daily pre-start meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
- Monitor and report on compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Facilitate safety training and inductions for new and existing site personnel.
- Conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and near-miss reporting, following up with corrective actions.
- Develop and review JSA and SWMS.
- Actively engage with project managers and supervisors to address and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain safety records and documentation, ensuring all reporting is up-to-date and accurate.
- Participate in emergency response planning and coordinate mock drills.
To Be Successful
- Diploma in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Safety Advisor on large civil or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and incident investigation.
- Ability to work in remote locations with roster flexibility.
- A commitment to safety with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
