About the role:
As Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements relevant to renewable energy projects like power purchase agreements, grid and supply agreements, MoUs, O&M, D&C and EPC contracts, joint venture, M&As, etc.
- Handling energy-related procurement, claims and disputes matters.
- Supporting the EPC team in negotiating and drafting subcontract documentation, assessing contractual risk and developing solid commercial agreements.
- Providing legally sound advice that appropriately balances relevant commercial and strategic considerations and legal risks arising from the company’s development pipeline and operational portfolio.
- Bachelors degree in Law, Masters degree is highly regarded
- Valid practicing certificate
- 3 to 6 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the renewable energy, power generation or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in drafting, managing, and negotiating complex contracts like EPC, PPAs, D&C, O&M, etc.
- Experience working with external counsel and managing legal budgets.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to anticipate potential legal issues and develop mitigation strategies.
