A prominent environmental consultancy is looking for a dedicated Contaminated Land Consultant to join their team in New South Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality environmental services to clients, supporting the company’s business activities, and contributing to overall profitability and growth. This role involves collaboration with the Team Lead – Contaminated Land and offers the opportunity to work on technically complex projects that have a meaningful impact on the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support staff on higher-profile, higher-risk, and more technically complex projects.
- Prepare accurate and technically defensible reports with minor to moderate guidance from senior staff.
- Develop moderately complex proposals with minimal revisions from the Principal.
- Provide training and mentorship for less experienced personnel.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring effective communication with junior staff.
- Ensure target margins for projects are met or exceeded and obtain necessary approvals for budget variations.
- Maintain accurate project records and facilitate timely invoicing, while keeping the Project Director informed about project status, budget, and deliverables.
- Foster a compliance culture aligned with the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and Workplace Health and Safety policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and internal stakeholders, responding swiftly to client needs.
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

- years of experience in contaminated land management, with a solid understanding of various contaminants and exposure scenarios.
- Familiarity with statutory health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organisational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ESdat, and statistical programs; experience with GIS software is highly desirable.
