About the role:
As Legal Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth by managing legal processes and contracts.
- Reviewing and updating legal documents from existing templates, working to reduce risk and maximise opportunities.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements relevant to renewable energy projects.
- Controlling external legal costs during financial close processes by handling ancillary documents internally and minimising external legal requirements.
- Supporting the EPC team in negotiating and drafting subcontract documentation, assessing contractual risk and developing solid commercial agreements.
- Providing input to the Australia team on legal workstreams and advising on resolving legal issues.
- Managing external lawyers, including fee negotiations and overseeing their work to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Bachelors degree in Law, Masters degree is highly regarded
- 6-10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Proven track record in drafting, managing, and negotiating complex contracts.
- Experience working with external counsel and managing legal budgets.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and within a team.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to anticipate potential legal issues and develop mitigation strategies.
